The Initiate Systems Years

Jack of all trades…

Initiate Systems really was an enjoyable job. I reported into a MarComm (Marketing Communications) team, where we were in charge of everything digital and physical for our marketing team. I managed the website, which could be anything from wire-framing and architecting the site design, to the little nuts and bolts of graphic design needs and implementation for the site. We used Sharepoint as our CMS for the main .com site, and WordPress for our side thought leadership blog, it was my job to keep those running, from user provisioning to server backups, everything. We used Eloqua for our email marketing needs, and it was my job to design and develop the HTML templates for emailing, along with landing page designs that integrated with the workflows.

We handled all the physical design elements as well — tradeshow booth designs, print literature designs and any and all forms of marketing materials like tags and digital/print ads.

Initiate.com

My responsibilities involved architecture, design and maintenance of the main corporate website. This site went through many a change over the years, branding and re-branding. Visually speaking, this is where we ended when IBM purchased us.

Marketing Collateral

Whitepapers, datasheets and customer success stories. My skills in print publishing and design put the full range of our marketing print collateral under my ownership.

Tradeshow Booths

Every few years, to keep ourselves fresh and new, we undertook a new design and branding effort. The market nomenclature for what we did was constantly shifting, from CDI to MDM, and our visual identity and messaging had to match.

All things marketing

Luggage tags, conference programs, door hangers, digital/print ads, sponsorship placements, brand management, wall art — we did it all.
