Daniel Defense
At the core of my responsibilities was experimentation. My main focus initially was customer/user experience. I hypothesized, experimented, and studied the results to provide insights to the greater marketing team. I drove the design of visuals and content on the eCommerce site in an attempt to learn what content and vision experience resonated with customers. Each experiment would test variations in product positioning, color, brand content positioning, etc.
I would use the data from the experiment to lead debrief sessions with the marketing team, draw conclusions about the customers, and help craft messaging and marketing efforts for future efforts.
As time went by, my role grew. I began to work with the Magento eCommerce site to design and build campaign landing pages. Customer segmentation also fell on my plate, and I began to learn how to intelligently segment the group of customers we were after. Lastly, I assumed email marketing responsibilities, which included building and scheduling simple email marketing strategies.
The gallery is a small representation of the experimentation work I led to develop, involving visual and content testing.
IBM
My time at IBM was a long journey. What began as an “acquired employee” turned into a decade of moving from acquisitions such as Netezza to the Analytics division to Middleware Software, ultimately ending my tenure as a contracted employee with the Event Marketing team.
In my ten years there I grew and learned many skills, mostly digital. Strategically focusing on the customer journey and how to market throughout its entirety. Marketing funnel strategy, and reaching the customer at the right time of their journey to make a positive impact. This ultimately led me down the path of digital experience design, and my interest in UI and UX design.
Initiate Systems
Initiate Systems was my first career move after college. I chose to uproot and move to Chicago to join a young team of marketers during the startup years. My role began as a simple graphic designer, but quickly transitioned to a Multimedia Design Strategist.
My role encompassed many forms of design. whitepapers, product datasheets, tradeshow booth design, video production, site design, advertisements, campaign collateral, and overall design language development.
